What are the league ages and weight limitations for the divisions?

Division allocation is determined by the “league age” of a child.  A child’s “league age” is determined by whatever the child’s age was on July 31st, of the year previous to the year that the tournament is being played in. (Example if the tournament is being played in 2019 then the age is determined by July 31st, 2018.  Yes that is 2018 – Therefore players play under the same ages as they did in their just previously ended fall season)

  • All players no matter their weight can participate in any of the tournaments due to our unique age/weight program.  We are BOTH an unlimited and a weight limited program. (Ex: If a 7 year old weighs more than 80lbs then they would then play as an unlimited weight player on the Mitey Mite division.)
  • YSF certifies a players weight at the beginning of the season and then does not do any further weigh ins.

Divisional Weights and Ages

Tiny-Mite            5 & 6yrs unlimited, 7yrs <80 lbs
Mitey-Mite          7 & 8yrs unlimited, 9yrs <100 lbs
Pee Wee               9 & 10yrs unlimited, 11yrs <120 lbs
Midget                 11 & 12 yrs unlimited, 13yrs <150 lbs
JR Varsity            12 & 13 yrs unlimited, 14yrs <200 lbs
Varsity                 13,14 & 15yrs All Unlimited weight

Note  – Players may play in their designated divisions as well as up ONE division from their age group only.  i.e. a 10 year old may play on Peewee and Midgets but NOT on JV.
